Staff Resources

The Governor of Oregon has issued a state-wide mandate that all K-12 employees must be fully vaccinated by October 18, 2021.  In the letter attached to this document, the ESD has outlined information about the available vaccines and the options staff can elect to comply with the governor’s order. The purpose of this Vaccination Plan is to provide the District the required information we will need to be in compliance the governor’s order.

Governor’s Mandate – Announced August 19, 2021

Documentation of Vaccination for Workers:   On or before October 18, 2021, or six weeks after the date that the United States Food and Drug Administration approves a vaccination against COVID-19, whichever is later, the employer must have documentation that all K-12 Employees are in compliance with mandate.

Compliance with State and Federal Law:   The ESD will make reasonable accommodations in order to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and state law equivalents, for individuals unable to be vaccinated due to disability, qualifying medical condition, or a sincerely held religious belief

Exceptions: The employee may request a medial or religious exception as described above. The Director of Human Resources and Superintendent of Columbia Gorge ESD will evaluate and determine in writing if there is a critical business need for an ESD employee to perform work without first coming into compliance with the Governor’s Mandate.

Enforcement:  Employees who fail to comply with the governor’s mandate will face consequences up to and including separation from employment.
