The Board of Directors for Columbia Gorge ESD is requesting applications for an individual to represent Zone 2 and Zone 3. Zone 2 consists of Wasco County voting precincts 1, 5, and 7 (western The Dalles to Mosier). Zone 3 consists of southern Wasco County (The Dalles to the southern county border).
Eligible applicants will be qualified voters in the district and have been a resident within the district for one year immediately preceding appointment. The Board of Directors generally meets once per month (the third Wednesday) at 7:00 p.m.. within the boundaries of Hood River and Wasco Counties. The term of these offices will end June 30, 2021. Career Connections Intern to serve the Columbia Gorge STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Hub. This is a temporary, paid internship position to focus on career-connections work for the STEM Hub. The primary project will be creating a database of all STEM companies in the Gorge region. Other related projects may be added as time allows. Approximately 20 hours per week for 8 weeks, with the exact schedule to be determined with the STEM Hub Director. $13.93 - $15.12 per hour, depending on experience and/or qualifications. Preschool Promise Bilingual Instructional Assistant - Early Learning: Will collaborate with the teacher in providing a positive learning environment and curriculum that support children’s social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive development. Provide written and oral translation as needed. Ensure labeling, schedule, and management systems are accurate and in place. Organize materials and furniture into an environment that supports active and quiet playtime and assisting teacher in modifying the environment to respond to individual children’s needs. Supervise all children’s indoor and outdoor activities while incorporating positive guidance and behavior management techniques. Minimum requirements of bilingual/biliterate in Spanish and English, an Associate's Degree preferred, High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria required, Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate required. 12 months of qualified teaching experience in a certified child care center or comparable group care program in the care of preschool age children preferred.
