Book club discussion

Registration Link

This course is designed as a book study for mentors and coaches who want to reflect on and improve their current practices of working and supporting early career educators in the company of peers. Since approximately half of the current teaching force has about 5 or fewer years of experience, instructional coaches may find this perspective especially helpful in supporting teachers in their building.

Each mentor/coach will attend seminars where they will discuss the readings from The Art of Coaching by Elena Aguilar and reflect on the activities from the companion book The Art of Coaching Workbook. Since many of the teachers we mentor are in the first five years of the profession, we will also use Mentoring in Action: Guiding, Sharing and Reflecting with Novice Teachers by Carol Pelletier Radford.

The course will meet on Monday afternoons, 4-5:30pm on Sept 25, Oct 9, Oct 23, Nov 6, Dec 4 2023 and Jan 8, Jan 22, Feb 5, Feb 26 and Mar 11 2024.

Graduate Credit or Stipends available.
