NOTICE OF BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING
A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Columbia Gorge Education Service District (CGESD), Wasco and Hood River Counties, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, will be held in the CGESD Boardroom on May 20, 2026, starting at 5:00 p.m.
This meeting may be attended electronically or in person. The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comments from the public on the budget. This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. Any person may provide comments on the proposed programs to the Budget Committee.
Public comment will be taken in written format, and during the meeting. Written comments received by 5 p.m. on May 19, 2026, will be read during the public comment section of the meeting on May 20, 2026. Comments during the meeting will be taken during the public comment section of the meeting on May 20, 2026. Comments, both written and live, will be subject to a three-minute limit per community member. To submit a public comment, please provide your name, telephone number, and address to the district via email to boardinfo@cgesd.k12.or.us.
A copy of the budget document may be inspected online at www.cgesd.k12.or.us, or obtained by mail, on or after May 20, 2026, via email request to fiscal@cgesd.k12.or.us.

The Columbia Gorge ESD Offices will be closed on Fridays through mid-August starting July 5th. Summer Office Hours will be Monday - Thursday, 8am-4:30pm.

The Columbia Gorge Education Service District Board of Directors is pleased to announce that a contract for Superintendent of the Columbia Gorge ESD has been offered to Mrs. Dana Pedersen of Bend, Oregon.
There were 10 applicants for the position. The board interviewed 2 finalists for the position during the week of April 8. Mrs. Pedersen will assume the duties of Superintendent beginning July 1, 2024. She is succeeding Dr. Pat Sublette who is retiring after 7 years as the Superintendent of the Columbia Gorge ESD.
The Columbia Gorge Education Service District offices will be closed for Spring Break week, March 25-29. We wish everyone a fun & safe Spring break!

Due to inclement weather, North Wasco (ESD) and Dufur are on a 2-hour delay. Hood River and South Wasco are closed today. Please refer to the guidance from the district you work in for further delays or closures. We will continue to update for any changes.
A Message from Superintendent Sublette Regarding Retirement
Dear CGESD Community
It is with deep gratitude for the consistent support and leadership from our Board, employees, districts, and community that I am announcing my retirement at the end of June 2024. After more than 45 years in education, it seems that this is a good time to embrace the next chapter in my career and life.
As you can imagine, this is not an easy decision or one that I have come to lightly. However, I am leaving CGESD is in a solid spot. After several years of rapid growth, and the COVID Pandemic, we have been able to establish strong internal processes to support our employees. We have multiplied and deepened services for our districts and in the communities we serve. We have been able to hire outstanding people who are passionate about their work. In short, CGESD is in a solid position to transition to new leadership. I believe our services to districts and the region will only continue to improve and grow over the next several years.
Please know that leading Columbia Gorge ESD has been a career highlight. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with so many amazing people over the last 7 years. I will always be grateful for the experience.
